Symbian is an open standard operating system for data-enabled mobile phones and is available to licensees. It recently launched the first version of its OS to offer native Wi-Fi, and the first phones to implement this version (OS V9.3) should start appearing at the start of 2007.
VoiceAge® offers implementations of various codecs to software developers who are building applications running under Symbian™ and advanced services for a global mass market of advanced, open, programmable, mobile phones. |

Our codecs work with all versions of the Symbian OS, regardless of user interface (UI), such as the Series 60 software platform for Nokia® smartphones that support services like rich-content downloading and MMS. Our codecs also work with UIQ, which provides a flexible, large-screen UI for small, pen-based phones.
To develop our implementations for Symbian, VoiceAge uses the ARM compiler to generate the binaries. Then, to keep the benefits and optimization provided by the ARM tools, we put the binaries through our own converter so they'll run on Symbian. The result is implementations truly optimized for Symbian – the best codec solutions for your applications.
