AMR-WB+ Patent Submission
If you or your organization believes that it owns one or more issued patents that are essential to the practice of the Extended Adaptive Multi-Rate Wideband audio compression technical specifications of the 3GPP (the “AMR-WB+ Standard”), then VoiceAge Corporation, as License Administrator on behalf of the Licensors within the AMR-WB+ patent pool, invites you to submit your patent(s) for determination of essentiality by an independent patent evaluator.
Patents are considered to be essential when they are determined to have at least one independent claim that would be necessarily and unavoidably infringed (in the absence of a license) by the practice of the AMR-WB+ Standard.
The Submission Package
The submission of each patent must include:
- Copy of the patent
- Prosecution history of the patent
- Copies of all references relied upon by the examining patent office
- Statement that indicates which claim(s) of the patent are relevant to which part(s) of the AMR-WB+ Standard
- Cover letter requesting the evaluation
- Signed copies of the Patent Evaluation Process contract (available from VoiceAge — see contact information below)
- Patent evaluation fee of US$10000
If you (the submitter) are informed by the Independent Patent Evaluator that the submitted patent is determined to be essential to the practice of the AMR-WB+ Standard, then you are expected to become a Licensor upon the terms and conditions provided by the License Administrator to all new members the AMR-WB+ patent licensing program.
