VoiceAge and VisualOn Team up to Deliver High-Quality
Mobile Multimedia Streaming

Wireless streaming solution featuring the best audio/video quality at the lowest bit rates to be demonstrated at the 3GSM World Congress 2007 next week in Barcelona

These two innovative companies are combining the strengths of the Extended AMR-Wideband (AMR-WB+) 3GPP standard hi-fi audio compression technology, developed by VoiceAge, Nokia and Ericsson, with the best-in-class VisualOn video codec implementations for mobile media player solutions. They will be showcasing their multimedia streaming solution on Windows Mobile SmartPhones at VoiceAge’s stand (#2C104, Hall 2) from February 12-15, 2007, at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona.

AMR-WB+ was selected by the 3GPP as a standard based primarily on its bit-rate efficient high-quality audio coding performance. Application and service developers can leverage AMR-WB+ to deliver unsurpassed audio quality across all content types in mono and/or stereo with bit rates ranging from 48 kbps down to a remarkable 6 kbps. AMR-WB+’s low processing complexity and low battery power consumption combine with its bandwidth efficiency to redefine the state of the art in mobile audio codecs.
