VoiceAge
selected by Sony Ericsson
Multimedia Playback Capability to be provided
for Sony Ericsson Java SDK
VoiceAge today announced
that its SPOT xde® content adaptation platform
has been selected by Sony Ericsson to provide
the rendering and display of multimedia content
within the new release of the Sony Ericsson
Java SDK (Version 2.0), the software development
kit used for Sony Ericsson MIDP2 Java-enabled
handsets.
The SPOT xde® component powers the display
of multimedia content within the SDK, and implements
the world renowned VoiceAge codecs for audio,
video, images and text. Seamlessly integrated
within the SDK, the SPOT xde® library supports
multimedia rendering that is compliant with
specifications from the Open Mobile Alliance
(OMA). The Java SDK, based on the Java 2 Micro
Edition standard (J2ME), contains everything
needed to build and test applications for the
Sony Ericsson mobile phones.
“We are very pleased with our selection
