EMT Estonia Selects VoiceAge to Provide Multimedia
Transcoding and Content Optimization

Montreal, Canada, November 10, 2003--VoiceAge Corporation, world-renowned for its multimedia compression solutions, today announced that the Estonian network operator EMT has selected the SPOT xde® Server platform from VoiceAge, for the transcoding and optimization of multimedia content.

“With the recent installation of SPOT xde® Server, we are now able to deliver content originating from a mobile device to e-mail addresses. Given the growth of our subscriber base and the volume expected in the coming years, we turned to VoiceAge because of the scalability of their solution”, said Tõnu Grünberg, Executive Vice President of Development and Technology at EMT.

SPOT xde® Server transcodes multimedia content across networks and devices. For example, audio, images or video from a cellular phone may not be compatible with the multimedia formats supported at the destination, unless a transcoder, such as SPOT xde® Server, intercepts and transcodes the multimedia content.

“Being the leading operator in Estonia, EMT is set to further enhance its MMS offering by ensuring content quality and integrity, by using SPOT xde® Server. We’re excited to work with EMT as they further demonstrate their MMS leadership in their market. We look forward to working with EMT as their multimedia transcoding requirements evolve”, said Laurent Amar, president of VoiceAge Corporation.
