3GPP Adaptive Multi-Rate Wideband Codec (AMR-WB)
and ITU-T G.722.2 Wideband Coding of Speech

VoiceAge Corporation is hereby issuing the following call for essential patents reading on 3GPP AMR-WB and ITU G.722.2 standards.

Any company or entity who believes it has patents that are necessary to the AMR-WB and G.722.2 standards and who wishes to participate in the AMR-WB/G.722.2 patent pool is requested to submit its patents for essentiality evaluation by an independent third party evaluator by sending an email message to legal_va@voiceage.com.

Specifications relating to the AMR-WB and G.722.2 standards may be found HERE (http://www.3gpp.org/ftp/Specs/html-info/26-series.htm) for AMR-WB and HERE (http://www.itu.int/rec/T-REC-G.722.2/en.) for G.722.2.

VoiceAge will then provide detailed instructions regarding submission of patents for evaluation, but note that all submissions shall contain a copy of the patent and detailed history, and reference to the relevant claims to the standard, as well as the patent evaluation fees.

A patent will be declared essential to the AMR-WB and G.722.2 standards if the independent patent evaluator finds at least one claim which would be unavoidably infringed by the practice of the AMR-WB and G.722.2 standards in the absence of a valid license to such patent.

All submitters that will have received a favorable opinion from the independent evaluator as to the essentiality of their patents will be invited to participate to the licensing administrative committee for the AMR-WB/G.722.2 patent pool.
